(Reuters) – William Donaldson, former U.S. Securities and Alternate Fee Chairman and co-founder of Wall Avenue funding financial institution Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette has died, Yale College’s College of Administration mentioned on Friday.
Donaldson, who was additionally the founding dean of Yale’s College of Administration, died on Wednesday, based on the college.
Donaldson, born in 1931, was chairman of the SEC from 2003 via 2005. He co-founded Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in 1959.
He was appointed to his function on the SEC by President George Bush and was a member of President Barack Obama’s authentic Financial Restoration Advisory Board.
Donaldson is survived by his spouse, Jane, and his youngsters Kim, Matt and Adam, and his three grandsons.
